Tradescantia 'Velvet Hill' - Large

Tradescantia 'Velvet Hill', also referred to as 'White Velvet', is commonly known as Cobweb Spiderwort, White Gossamer, and White Velvet Fuzzy leaved spiderwort due to its pale green leaves appearing covered in spider webs.

Native to the mountains of northern Mexico, Tradescantia 'Velvet Hill' is a low-growing and spreading plant that reaches 10-12 inches in height and 18 inches in width. It produces vibrant magenta flowers throughout the summer and autumn, making it a beautiful addition to both containers and gardens. With a preference for sun and minimal water, this plant is a low-maintenance grower that can thrive even with neglect.

A key aspect of cultivating Tradescantia plants is pruning the lengthy, trailing tendrils. Trim roughly one-fourth of the plant to stimulate branching and enhance fullness.
