Beech Woodchip

Beech woodchips are a great loose substrate and are our first choice for desert lizards and snakes. The coarse beech woodchips are great for lizards as they are quite large and are unlikely to be accidentally ingested. These woodchips clump together with moisture making it very easy to identify and remove waste within the vivarium. Beech woodchip is also light enough for your pet to burrow into and hide under.

Beech woodchip is a great substrate for animals that will not regularly be exposed to moisture. If an area where to get wet the beech woodchips get darker alerting you to the increases moisture. Here in the store we use the beech woodchips with bearded dragons, hermanns tortoises, skinks, spiny tailed geckos and a wide range of snakes.
