How to Feed Frozen Mice to Your Snake

Once your frozen mice have thawed fully at room temperature, the key is making sure they're warm to the touch before offering them. Some snakes, particularly pythons and boas with heat-sensing pits, are more likely to strike at prey that registers as warm.

Always use feeding tongs rather than your hands to present the prey, keeping your scent off the mouse and your fingers out of the strike zone. Wiggle the prey gently to encourage a feeding response, and release once your snake has a firm grip.
