Does a baby beardie need a smaller vivarium? 

Buying a smaller vivarium for a baby bearded dragon is a false economy. This is because their growth rate is extremely fast, and they’ll reach adult size very soon (within 12 to 18 months). Additionally, they also require the same temperature and UV gradients as adults from day one, which are more difficult to achieve in smaller vivariums.

So, save your money and buy a large enclosure that will work for both baby and mature beardies.

What do I need for a bearded dragon enclosure?

For a proper bearded dragon enclosure, include UVB lighting for calcium metabolism, a basking lamp, thermometers, and a thermostat.

Add clean water bowls, safe substrate, live plants, climbing branches, rocks, hides, and food dishes for insects and vegetables. Ensure regular cleaning and monitoring for a healthy, enriching environment for your pet.

How often should I clean my bearded dragon’s vivarium?

Spot clean daily to remove waste and uneaten food. A deep clean every 4-6 weeks is recommended to maintain hygiene.

What is the ideal temperature range for a bearded dragon vivarium?

Maintain a basking area at 38-42°C (100-108ºF), with the cooler end around 22-26°C (72-79ºF). Use thermometers to monitor the gradient.

What lighting does a bearded dragon need at night?

Bearded dragons do not need light at night. If additional heat is necessary, use a ceramic heat emitter that does not emit light.
